September Meeting

September 25 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Annaghdown Heritage Society will hold its first meeting for Autumn 2024 on Wednesday, Sep. 25 at 8 pm.  Over the next few meetings, we hope to encourage members to share their explorations of family history and so encourage all to create their own family tree.  It would be great to develop a data base of interesting “characters” from the past on the society webpages.

To start the ball rolling, Gerry Morgan will present some of his research on his wife, Pat’s “missing” British connections.  He will highlight some of the UK sources that he found useful in finding the missing family link.  The findings include sentences of death by hanging, threats of transportation and eventual emigrations to New Zealand and Australia.

A central part of the meeting will include time for tea & chat!  Newcomers are especially welcome, so do invite your friends along to the Heritage Room in the Old Girls’ School in Corrandulla.  For those who are further afield, we will share the meeting on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/4244845743.
